Different Places – Different Garden Lights
If you ‘re looking for an excuse to go crazy on garden lights, throw a party. Maybe you think it’s a bit too much work , but if it means that you finally have a great chance to buy patio lighting and candle lanterns and path lights – then go for it . Just imagine how wonderful it will be to see your night time garden in a whole new light
You see, garden lighting is more than just lights . Its a way to set up a mood at night and transition from different areas of your garden . Is your yard built around the concept of garden rooms? It’s a delightful way to present small areas to seem bigger than they are and you can use the same idea with the lighting , at night and create different areas with a different style of lighting.
First of all you can use lights for many practical purposes . If you’re having a party or expect a lot of people , begin with how you show the path. There are so many wonderful choices. I adore solar path lights. Honestly, they’ve come such a long way from earliest versions that almost never worked that I don’t know why anyone would ever shop for anything else . But now you can also choose between basic white light – or spot lights or solar lights that change color. I’ll use white closer to the front of the patht and stash my new colored lights in the back.
The color changing path lights, I must admit, really are a favorite of mine . Not only do these solar powered garden lights shift their color from red to orange to yellow to green to blue and Violet, then back to red, you can keep them at the color of your choice so the possibilities are not quite endless , but pretty darned close.
Yet another great choice are solar powered, color changing orbs that I can put on a little stand or just roll around the yard or (here’s the best ) -I can float them in the pool. This is great fun.
Of course, I’ll need lots of new outdoor candle lanterns. I know they’ve been around for a while, but there are simply so many awesome designs to choose from . Since I’m free to set up them on top of all the tables and hang others from the odd branch, I can choose between iron and clear glass, iron and mosaic glass and some fabulous pressed and crackle glass lanterns in fuchsia, amber, dark green and turquoise.
I spend hours every week trying to make my garden as beautiful as I can. It means a lot to me and I’m happy to have any chance to show it off in a new light – no pun intended .
